Cottage Rentals In Secuded Areas

Most people look forward to going away on holiday and a lot of people like to make complex plans and bookings. After all you frequently have to make allowances for flights and hotels. However, there can also be car, tour and bicycle bookings as well, depending on the category of holiday you want.

As an alternative to a hotel, you might want to think about renting a private cottage. Cottage rentals are a good option to a hotel or guest house. In general, cottage holidays are self-catering, so you would have to be prepared to put in a little more work than if you went on an all-inclusive hotel stay. A small cottage on the coast in an isolated location would suit many people, but a holiday cottage on the coast could be better for others.

If you choose the right location, you can have whatever sort of cottage you want. Go to the coast if you like sailing or snorkeling. A seaside resort location would offer more night life most likely. If you want a quieter fishing vacation with canoing or boating, a quiet lakeside retreat would be more fitting. Then there are mountain retreats and several other levels of isolation and nightlife too.

If you would like to visit museums and other touristic sights, you should select a location near an appropriate city. It just requires a little forward preparation and consideration.

We live in Wales and there are thousands of rental cottages of all types in all manner of locations. If you have a large family, you could hire several cottages close by each there and live in a kind of old fashioned village. There are also modern camps like ‘Center Parcs’ which have hundreds of very modern cottages in small groups of four or five so that families or friends can stay in a community together.

These contemporary cottages are very plush, with Jacuzzis, swirl baths, large flat screen televisions and all manner of entertainment equipment and satellite TV. The cottages are set in acres of woodland and wildlife abounds. There are deer, badgers, foxes, squirrels and dozens of types of birds including kingfishers, geese, ducks and swans.

The swimming pools are completely heated and go inside and outside into the woods, so that even in the middle of winter you stay warm. There is also archery, boating and hiking with many courses of differing hardship to follow. It is great to walk in the woods knowing that you cannot get lost with wildlife around every corner.

The wildlife is used to human company, so much or it is not afraid and they come right up to you if you stop for a picnic. These holidays are not so cheap as going to a self-catering private vacation, but they are safe, particularly for young families.

You can find cottage rentals through a travel agent, but you can also find them by searching in your local newspaper. These are some of the best finds because the cottages might be only a few hours drive away, but that is far enough to make a big change. You do not really have to get on a plane to have a great vacation with a difference.

Should You Get A Pay As You Go Cell Phone?

Are you considering purchasing a pay as you go cell phone? You have stumbled across the right site if you are. In this article we are going to be talking about some of the benefits of these phones and we will also be discussing some of the downfalls of these phones. By the time you are done reading this whole thing you will know exactly whether or not you want to get one.

1-They are great for children to use

Do you remember when you first got your cell phone? Do you remember wanting to show it off to everyone? Well the same is true for your kids, they will want to be letting everyone know they have a phone. This will cause the price of your monthly bill to sky rocket and it can even be more than what you initially paid for. The best way to avoid this is by getting the child a pay as you go cell phone. By using this type of mobile phone, you will be paying for the minutes that your child uses as they use it. This means you will not have any surprises at the end of the month.

2-You will save money

With a typical plan, you will need to pay for a monthly fee regardless of whether or not you actually used all the minutes. This can get very annoying because it is just money going to waste. When you use a prepaid cell phone you will save yourself a lot of money because you are only paying for the minutes as they are being used. You don’t ever need to pay for more than you used again.

3-They may shut off in use

As you can see, these phones have many benefits and will save you money.. However, one of the biggest downfalls is the fact that they may turn off in the middle of a conversation when you run out of the amount of minutes you paid for. There is no way to continue the conversation unless you are near a place you can purchase more minutes. This can easily be avoided though if you simply pay for a little bit more than you need.

There are many benefits to getting a Pay As You Go Cell Phone. To learn how to choose one that is perfect for you just check out http://PayAsYouGoCellPhone.info

Millennium Predictions

A lot of people predicted that the start of the new Millennium, the year 2000 would be the date of the apocalypse. However, fortunately, they were very wide of the mark.

What is it that makes people to attempt to forecast disasters? Is it because they are trying to warn people or because they wish to frighten people? Scare people, I think and thereby get advantage over the gullible.

These apocalyptic predictions go back thousands of years and even appear in the Bible. Their only raison d’etre is to frighten people and so gain money, power and influence over them.

Even the millennium bug turned out not to be a problem with computers working perfectly well after midnight despite claims by ‘computer experts’ that there would be a worldwide crash of stupendous importance. The computer industry made a fortune out of frightening businesses and individuals with their lies. That was the scam of the Nineties to end all scams!

So why all the publicity? Was it just the arrival of a new millennium, which gave rise to so many to make predictions on this date rather than stick to their normal common sense? Yes, I think. People saw the opportunity of a lifetime to rip others off and they jumped at it.

Needless to say there were thousands of prophesies made ranging from the arrival of aliens and the Second Coming of Christ to plane crashes. None of which came true. Here are a couple of those less than accurate prophesies:

May 5th was the day upon which all the planets lined up. The prediction was that the gravitational force of all these heavenly bodies in alignment would cause massive earthquakes, huge tides and volcanic eruptions.

A lot of people also prophesied that the shifting of the poles would occur during 2000 and that this would cause disastrous events such as high tides, widespread electrical failure and computer failures, which would mean economic disaster for the larger countries and insurance firms.

I do not know what you think, but perhaps instead of worrying about the demise of the world (most doom-mongers have decided on the year 2012 for the destruction of the world) we should work together to make the best of the time we have left on this planet, as well as ensuring that we pass the planet on to the next generation in the same condition as we received it.

If we behave in this way, we may hold off the day of reckoning for a long while yet. We are far more likely to suffer apocalypse through nuclear war, global warming and events which are avoidable and within our control, than cosmic events which we have little control over such as asteroids or the Sun’s developing into a red dwarf and eventually exploding.

How To Manage A Wedding Car Business

Have you ever thought about running a wedding car business? Although it can be demanding, because you do not want to let anybody down on their big day, it is also fascinating and exciting.

Some of the advantages are that you get to own good-looking cars – maybe a Rolls Royce or a Bentley and they are tax-deductible; you meet new people under happy circumstances and you are in the position to help them have a wonderful wedding day.

It is a very demanding industry, because you always have to bear in mind the desires of your clients and think about how you can realize and expand their’ wishes. That is difficult enough, but you also have to stay competitive. I hope that the following tips will be helpful.

1] Take care of the conditions under which you keep your vehicles. If you can afford to garage them, they will not collect dust and bird droppings so the paintwork will look better for longer. Do not have a gravel drive, because of possible scratching to the coachwork of the cars.

2] Get one or two really lovely cars. You will need to do a bit of research to find out what couples in your area like, but as a rule of thumb a Rolls Royce or a Bentley are sure bets. Or maybe a stretch limousine. Old vehicles go down well too. Build up your fleet of cars step by step but increasingly. Offer your clients as much choice as you can realistically afford to do.

Many marriage couples will not only require the wedding car, but also cars for the guests. Many of them want limousines or old cars for their wedding day. But a lot of other cars are required for the guests. Be flexible and agree to bedeck the vehicles according to the couple’s wishes with flowers and ribbons.

2] Employ good, sympathetic personnel. A fully trained chauffeur is a necessity, but a military style driver can add to your firm’s image.

3] It is a good idea to offer different packages or elements that a couple can use to build a package. So, you could offer transport from the bride’s house to the church as one element. From the church to the restaurant as another element and from there to the chosen hotel, the airport or the railway station, as another element.

4] Make sure that your clients know exactly how long they have exclusive use of the cars for. This is useful for them, so that they know precisely how long they have to take photos, eat or chat.

Transport plays a huge and vital part in any wedding day celebrations. In fact, poorly timed or scruffy transportation can ruin a wedding day. If you let that happen, your firm’s standing will suffer badly, particularly in a town or village. You will need a high sense of responsibility; reliable, well-trained, sensitive staff and high quality cars that look the part. White wedding cars are popular, but other colours are acceptable, especially for the guests.

Rapid Weight Loss Myths

There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting to be slimmer just to have a sexier body. Many people have moulded their bodies to make them look more healthy and more desirable. However, there is no way to attain this new appearance in a day of two. The problem is that most people do not want to wait, they want it now.

This can lead to these people making rather rash and, it has top be said, rather silly decisions. They are not willing to wait and they are not willing to work for what they want. This is why so many people turn to rapid weight loss diets. Some ‘guru’ brings out a new fad diet and a good proportion of the ‘I want it now’ crowd jump on the band wagon. Only to be disappointed again within the year or less.

Speed diets or rapid weight loss diets tend to put out great advertising copy that is very hard to resist. However, all diets, no matter which one you choose, Weight Watchers, Atkins or fad diet, depend on overweight people making lifestyle changes in order for them to work permanently.

There is a very apposite saying: if you always do what you always did, then you will always get what you always got. That says it all. You can lose weight with all but the stupidest of diets, but if you go back to your old ways when you hit your target weight, you MUST slowly, but surely creep back to your old weight.

If you give your body more calories than it needs, it will store them for when it does need them. The problem is that that day never comes for too many people, because they never exercise themselves. This is particularly true of fad diets like the ‘cabbage water’ diet. Yes, you will lose weight on it, but you would lose weight by fasting whatever you did. For a while, and then you might get sick. For a diet to work, it has to be flexible and enjoyable enough for you to be able to stick with it for the rest of your life. Make no mistake, dieting is long-haul.

Many rapid weight loss programs actually only squeeze the water out of you. Just like a wet sponge. But a good dieter maintains his or her grip on that sponge, not letting it soak up water again. The problem with short term dieting, is that you let go of the sponge underwater.

This is why serial dieters first lose weight and are delighted; then finish dieting, go back to their old weight and become disheartened. In that state of depression they are suckers for the advertisers of the next latest craze diet. In other words, they are being manipulated and literally squeezed dry, but of their money too.

These silly rapid weight loss programs also include fat loss pills. They are not making you lose fat, well, maybe a tiny amount gets washed out with all the surplus water you are carrying. They are only diuretics under another name. How many pills would I sell if I called them diuretics? How many more would I sell if I called them miracle fat loss pills?

Type the word diuretic into a engine and learn more about them. They are all around you in mild healthy forms. A diuretic will basically cause your body to lose more fluid than was in the diuretic. Tea is a diuretic, for instance.

This list of these dopey dieting aids to rapid weight loss goes on and on, but someone must be buying them and you can bet your bottom dollar that it is the sad, depressed dieter who let go of the sponge.

Slimming soap! Slimming soap is being advertised as being a rare Eastern remedy for obesity. Well, let me tell you, I live in the East and I have never seen it here. Asians are slim because they do a lot of physical labour and do not come under the pressure to eat junk food that Westerners do, although that situation is changing rapidly too.

Magnetic weight loss earrings, I ask you! Even being inebriated without a present for your wife ten minutes before Christmas Day is not a good enough excuse to fall for this one, surely? The advertisers say that the secret of this set of earrings is that they are magnetic.

Well, if you believe this, why not get a pair of $1 children’s toy magnets or even a couple of fridge magnets and put one in each hip pocket? Two? Well, after all, you would not want to lose weight from only one side, would you? You would be lop sided.

Just remember, when you are looking for a rapid weight loss diet: there ain’t one ( that will work for life). If you are putting on weight, then your lifestyle is wrong and it is up to you alone to change it.

How To Filter Websites On Your Computer

You do not need me to sit here and tell you that in this world, it is almost impossible to search the internet without finding an adult site. The sad thing is it is hard even if you are intentionally trying to avoid these sites. This shows us how easily it will be for a child to stumble across one of these sites, it is important you do not let this happen. In this article we are going to teach you how to filter certain sites on your computer.

1-Change your search settings

I know that by changing the settings on your search engine, you are not blocking sites from being viewed, but you are blocking them from showing up in the search. This is a huge help because the majority of people who surf the internet do it through a search engine. If you do not know how to change your settings it is easy. On most search engines, you just go into the preferences and click on the heavy filter button. It is important that you make sure it is working properly by doing a few searches on your own.

2-Get a filtering software like Net Nanny

If you have never heard of a program called Net Nanny then you are going to want to learn more about it. Net Nanny will actually allow you to filter websites based off of what you want filtered. But it get’s even better, you can do more than just filter websites. The program will allow you to take a look at your child’s Facebook, Myspace, and AIM instant messaging.

3-Use Pure Site if Net Nanny is too expensive

If you are looking for a way to just filter websites that you do not want your children looking at the Pure Sight is probably the best bang for your buck. The reason it is much cheaper than Net Nanny is because you are not able to monitor the social networking sites or the instant messaging. But if you do not care about that then why not save some money right?

If you are looking for an Internet Access Control that will allow you to monitor your computer all you need to do is look at http://InternetAccessControl.info

Wedding Rings

One’s wedding ring is often a person’s most essential item of jewellery, because of the huge significance that it has for its wearer. It is intended to denote the love that exists between two people. In most countries, the wedding ring is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand – the ring finger, although in Norway, Germany and Russia, it is worn on the fourth finger of the right hand.

It is generally a good idea to have your finger measured by an expert, before buying an expensive ring, because fingers swell and shrink over the course of a lifetime and a good jeweller will know how much leeway to allow. If the change in the size of your finger is likely to be permanent, it is a good idea to have the ring resized, this is so that it will neither cut into you nor fall off your finger easily.

These days a lot of couples like to go shopping for wedding rings together, because they want to buy a pair of matching rings that both of them likes. However, it does not have to be like that. In fact it never was, because the man bought the ring for his fiancee as a surprise. So, if you do not share the same tastes, do not worry about it.

There are hundreds of designs to choose from and several kinds and qualities of metal too. Yellow gold is still the most popular, but there is white gold and specialist golds too like Welsh gold, which is very rare. Besides gold, platinum and titanium are very popular too.

A fast developing trend is for a couple to design or have designed a unique pair of wedding rings. At first, you would think that this would be very expensive, but it is not necessarily so. If you keep your design moderate and the stones, if any, equally so, then the rings might only cost 10%-20% more than those off the shelf.

Gold is still the most popular metal for a wedding ring, but silver is starting to gain ground too, although it was always looked on as the poor cousin before. Likewise, diamonds are the still the number one stone of choice, but sapphires are also very popular nowadays. Or you could go for plain bands with something like a Celtic knot design.

Shopping for wedding rings can be fun, but it is easy to go over the top and spend much more than you planned to. You could decide how much you can afford and stick to it, not that that always works either. Count on to pay a lot more for the bride’s wedding ring than the groom’s. This is because the bride’s ring usually contains diamonds, whereas the groom’s is often a plain band of gold.

You could further personalize your wedding rings with an inscription and a date. Personalized, or unique wedding rings often get handed down through the generations. Possibly, yours will too. Or, if you want to wear your grandmother’s handed-down ring, you could personalize it in some way, so that it is both old and yet something of you as well.

Holidays And Holy Days

Congress and the president have selected ten days as federal holidays. Being ‘federal’, these holidays technically only apply to federal employees and residents of the District of Columbia, although they are so widely observed that they can be thought of as national holidays.

Legally, it is up to each individual state to designate public holidays. If the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the Friday before or the Monday after is given in lieu to make a long weekend.

New Year’s Day (January 1) – celebrating the New Year dates back to pre-Christian times, when rites were performed to try to ensure the return of Spring.

Martin Luther King Jnr. Day (third Monday in January) – before he was shot dead in 1968, Martin Luther King Jnr. was the principal civil rights leader in the 1950’s and 1960’s. He was given the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964. Congress set this day aside to commemorate his life and accomplishments in 1983.

Washington’s Birthday (third Monday in February) – initially it was commemorated on Washington’s actual birthday, the 22nd of February, but it was moved in 1971 to make a long weekend. It is occasionally known as Presidents’ Day, because it is near Lincoln’s birthday on the 12th February.

Memorial Day (last Monday in May) – also called Decoration Day, it honours soldiers fallen in battle. It originates from the Civil War and is traditionally marked by parades and services.

Independence Day (4th July) – this, the most important US holiday, marks the 1776 signing of the Declaration of Independence from Great Britain. It was first commemorated in 1777 and is marked by fireworks, parades and speeches.

Labor Day (first Monday in September) – this, the suggestion of Peter J. McGuire, the president of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners, was taken up in 1894 to celebrate American workers.

Columbus Day (second Monday in October) – Christopher Columbus and his crew landed in the Bahamas on Oct 12th 1492. It was first commemorated in 1792, although it was not formally adopted until 1909. It is a source of special pride to Italian-Americans, who claim the Genoan voyager as their own.

Veterans Day (Nov 11th) – or Armistice Day commemorates the end of the First World War on Nov 11th 1918. It was made a legal holiday in 1938, but its name was changed in 1954 to honour all American veteran soldiers.

Thanksgiving Day (fourth Thursday in November) – it was first celebrated in Plymouth County, Massachusetts in 1621, the year in which the Pilgrims landed in the New World to give thanks for the new harvest and the new land they had colonized. President Lincoln made it a holiday in 1863.

Christmas Day (December 25th) – Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

Designer Glass Paperweights

My friend has a shop that sells glass artwork. My personal favourite glass artwork is paperweights and I have a lot of fun attending art auctions and buying art glass with her. We pay close attention to what our friends and her clients like and dislike.

I usually give people art glass paperweights that I find at art auctions for milestone birthdays and anniversaries. My mother turned seventy last August and I found a magnificent glass paperweight for her.

The art glass paperweight that I found for my mother was made by Baccarat and I was extremely lucky that this was one of the last items auctioned. A lot of people had already left the auction when this item went on the block. My mother appreciated the rose motif because the rose is her favourite flower.

I have a Dutch friend from Den Bosch who loves effigies of frogs. She has managed to decorate her abode very stylishly with her favourite frogs. I have been on the lookout for an art glass paperweight for her for years. I finally found one at an art auction last year. The glass paperweight featured a frog sitting on a lily pad surrounded by blue water. It was really pretty and my friend began using it on her desk immediately.

I also have an aunt who collects art glass paperweights. She has asked me very often to find glass paperweights for her when I am attending art auctions. Of all of the pieces I have bought for her over the years, one sticks out in my memory more than any other.

The prettiest art glass paperweight I have ever won at an art auction has to be one that featured a blue and gold Macaw. Rick Ayotte was the artist that made it and it was even featured in a book of his work. He has created many lovely art glass paperweights.

There is no trouble at all selling art glass paperweights made by Rick Ayotte. His work seems to draw a great deal of interest. My friend tries to win any auction she finds for art glass paperweights made by him. She won one not so long ago that looked like pink roses. They looked so fragile and sweet. I know that this art glass paperweight will sell quickly.

There have been some inquiries at the shop for art glass paperweights by Richard Marquis, although we have not found any in any of the art auctions we have been to recently.

I will keep looking out for art glass paperweights at the auctions I attend, but I will not be going way out of my way to track them down. I now buy every art glass paperweight I can find that was made by Rick Satava. My favorite has to be the coral orange jellyfish that I found at an art auction an hour from my home. It was really beautiful.

Ideas For Presents For Executives

Personalization is the key to giving the perfect retirement present to those top people in business, who have probably tasted the better things in life. It must be a gift that permits them to remember their time in the corporation, where they had worked so hard for decades to get to the desk of their dreams.

The gift should be something to do with their previous business life, and which, after their life-time of profitable deals and perfect investments, reminds them of those business-related activities that gave them pleasure and therefore makes them feel happy again. These two things are fundamental and necessary to help the former executive remember how they lived their working lives, and of course, the person who thoughtfully gave them the present.

The Golfer: Nothing says elitism and enthusiasm more than the sport of golf. The number of shops selling golf clubs, gloves, golf-carts and the like has soared over the years due to the proliferation in industries like hedge fund investing and financial advisors in general. More business people simply means more golfers since golf is the sport where most of them bond and get to know each other. Further evidence of this, is that golf courses are becoming more commonplace in rising countries like India and China, where Mission Hills and many other courses are frequently advertised in the sporting media.

It only takes some creative thought. You could put their company logo, family seal or monogram on golf balls, markers, tees and golf bag to show that certain kind of privilege that they relish. For those who like to take friends to the golf course with them, nothing says group bonding more than personalized golf vests for the whole group of friends!

If your retired friend has done extremely well in a memorable golf tournament, a small personalized leaderboard print will also provoke memories just as much as any photos could. With their winners’ podium photos and scorecards immortalized for ever, you can recreate the joi-de-vivre of that particular golf competition and help the golfer (and other participants) to relive the moment just as if they were winning and enjoying the game all over again.

Recreational Gambling: Some executives spend some of their free time in casinos, where they flaunt their wealth and try to win more at the same time. Such people live life in the fast lane, as hey say, winning and losing a lot of money as they go along. The perfect gift for this kind of person, are gifts that represent his/her lifestyle, like a personally branded cigar or a monogrammed cigar case and cutter. How about a customized deck of cards with logos that represent the retiree’s trade or industry?

You could also go in for the classic gift of expensive wine or champagne, the taste of which will remind them of the high life by its incomparable taste. A bottle of Lafite, Brut or Mensil are on this list. Giving ex top-flight executives these universal symbols of privilege would contribute vastly to the perfect retirement party for them. A cigar case personalized with a monogram and expensive wine do go a long way in this direction.

In Conclusion: Nothing else will remind them of their previous lifestyles more than personalized items that represent their previous way of life. Giving these sorts of gifts to retiring executives hits the nail right on the head. They should be able to live their retirement years the way they want to and thinking along the lines of luxury and personalization will help you discover the best retirement gift for them easily.
